Obituary of Michael R. Maglio
Michael R. Maglio, age 83 of Lewiston, died Saturday May 12, 2018 in Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, after a brief illness.
Michael was born September 18, 1934 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late Guy and Rose (Lore) Maglio. He was raised in Niagara Falls and was a graduate of Trott Vocational High School. From 1957 to 1959 Michael served with the U.S. Army. Following his honorable discharge he married Lorraine Vinette on September 19, 1959 and they have resided in Lewiston the past 52 years. Michael was first employed by Veveritt Lumber in Lewiston. He then worked at the Ransomville General Hospital before joining Cataract Door & Lumber Co. in Niagara Falls as Mill Foreman. After leaving there he worked as a self employed cabinet maker.
Michael was an avid Bills, Sabres, and NY Yankee fan. He enjoyed bowling and traveling as well.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lorraine; his children, Lori (James) Proietti and Michael (Kimberlie) Maglio; his grandchildren, Ashley (Eric) Clingersmith, Shannon Proietti, Breanna (Nathan) Knab, and Devan Maglio; a great granddaughter, Eva Lorraine; and his siblings, Maryann (late Albert) Cote, Anthony (Shirley) Maglio, and Patricia Tingue.
Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston on Monday, May 14, from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM. Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home at 8:00 PM with the Rev. Charles Lamb officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094.
