Obituary of Richard L. Kinzly
Richard L. Kinzly, age 90 of Sarasota, FL, formerly of Wilson, died Tuesday February 20, 2018 at Doctors Hospital in Sarasota, FL.
Richard was born April 2, 1927 in North Tonawanda, the son of the late Levant and Elsie (Bahlow) Kinzly. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of WW II, enlisting in January of 1945 and serving to his honorable discharge in August of 1946. In 1949 he married Lily M. (Sims) Kinzly. Richard was employed by National Fuel Gas for over 30 years, retiring in 1989 as District Manager. After his retirement he and Lily moved to Sarasota. Lily predeceased him in 2004.
Richard was a member of Charlottville Masonic Lodge #73, the Ransomville OES #374, the Sarasota SAHIB Shrine #183, the Wheatfield American Legion #1451, and the Elks Lodge in Sarasota. He was a longtime golfer and was a former member of the Niagara Frontier Country Club.
He is survived by his children, Joan D. Zahno, Colleen (William) Love, Karl, Wayne (Kathy), and Michael Kinzly; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Sandra Kinzly, a brother, Levant R. Kinzly, and a sister, Betty Newcott.
Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Monday from 3 - 7 PM. Funeral services followed by Military Honors will be held Tuesday, February 27, at 10:00 AM in the funeral home, with the Rev. Richard Garrow officiating.
