Mr. Lombardi was a really special guy. I will never forget going to Mr. Lombardi's Farm on a field trip, when I was in 1st grade at Hyde Park School. As soon as we all got off of the bus at Mr. Lombardi's farm, I saw a chicken and went running as fast as I could, after it! (I loved animals since I was born!). As soon as I was running after the chicken and was so excited to be there, my teacher scolded me and told me to get back with the class! I was not happy about that! But all was not lost, because Mr. Lombardi let me milk a real cow! That was the only time I had the amazing experience of getting to milk a cow - in my whole life. I will never forget that. If it wasn't for Mr. Lombardi opening up his farm to the kids, I would have never had that experience. A great experience it was, too. Because, at 50 years old now, I still remember that day, like it was yesterday. Thank you, Mr. Lombardi, for giving me a great memory I will never, ever forget.

To the Lombardi children, I want to express my sincere sympathy for the loss of your father. I spent many hours babysitting for Jimmy, Janis and Jayne as a teenager and neighbor on Ridge Road before moving from the area. Your parents were always two of my favorite people. I hope you will all cherish your memories of your father as many others will.

Too all of Jim's family; this is Bob Greene from Sun Lakes, AZ., near Chandler, AZ.. I just found out today from my sister Ceci Greene Evert that Jim had pass on. I was shocked and sad. We were Duffy grads together. I left NIagara right after graduation in "53". Lost contact with Jimmy until 15 years ago. Always stopped to see Jim at the nursery when I was visiting family back in Youngstown/Lewiston. He was always a joy to see with that great smile and kind words. I shall say special prayers for JIm on Thursday and keep him in my prayers at mass. I wish I was there to say Goodbye. He was a super nice classmate and friend.

I wanted to express my condolences to the entire Lombardi family. Jimmy was like family as I was their babysitter for years. I would go on vacation to Buckhorn with them amongst many other fun outings. The one thing I remember most is when he saw me he'd always have to pinch my cheeks. I guess it was his way of letting you know that he liked you. Having grown up on Ridge Road, just a few doors down, our families were very close and I will forever cherish those days. So many fond memories. You will be sadly missed Jim

We are so sorry to hear about Jimmy and his long illness, he was a great man who lived life to the fullest. He was a person who told things as they were with no frills. I loved that about him, what you saw is what you got.
I know that my father will greet him and expect that he will cook his meat loaf and liver and onions on the right days.
Rest in peace Jimmy, you deserve it as you have worked hard all your life.
Remembering you with fondness. Sandy and Terry Dean
P.S. Look out for Dot and Les Harris, they knew you well.

Just wanted to let the Lombardi’s know how much Jimmy meant to me growing up on Ridge Road. The memories are countless...drawing hay, taking care of the cows, making ice cream in the dairy. Getting jostled and punched around, but always in a playful way that made you feel you were part of the gang. I always tell people how fortunate I was to have had the opportunity to grow up working on the farm with Buster and Jimmy and to have known them. They both played a big part, but especially Jimmy, in my youth and teen years. I used to curse hay season...the heat, humidity, the scratches from the hay, but now I look back on it and am actually thankful for the experience! So, thanks Jimmy. For being a big part of my life and a part I will always remember with great fondness and gratitude. Billy Bennett
