She learned to sail small boats on the Lower Niagara River in the days when competition was the Toronto Steamer. After boating on the Nile, Irrawaddy, Neva, Yangtze, Rhine, etc., she continued to claim "her" river - the Lower Niagara, was the most beautiful in the world. Jane was Administrator, Secretary and a Director of the Harry Dent Family Foundation for more than 45 years. She also served on the Board of Millard Fillmore Hospital Foundation. She was a long-time member of the Niagara Falls Country Club and the Garrett Club in Buffalo; a member of the Youngstown Yacht Club; a life member of the Albright-Knox Art Gallery; the Old Fort Niagara Association, and supported many local charities. Jane served as Treasurer of the Goat Island Investment Club, and was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority.
