Obituary of John E. Ripson, Jr.

John E. Ripson, Jr., age 83 of Ransomville, died Wednesday November 1, 2017 in the Newfane Rehabilitation & Health Care Center after a long illness.

John was born March 26, 1934 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late John E. Sr. and Marjorie (Bush) Ripson. He married Mary Jane (Amey) Ripson on December 19, 1952 and they had lived in Ransomville for over 50 years. Mary Jane predeceased him in 2002. John was a self employed Independent Truck Driver for most of his life. He was a member of the Niagara County Motorcycle Club and enjoyed his motorcycle and side car. He also enjoyed his farm on Porter Center Rd., auctions, auto racing and horse shows.

He is survived by his children, Sharon (James) Last, Gary Ripson (Barbara), David (Rhonda) Ripson, Douglas Ripson, and Karen (William) Hurtgam; his grandchildren, Jennifer, Mary, Theresa, Jackie, Nicole, David Jr. , Ryan, Jonathan, Kristine, Amanda, Tammie, and Steven; and 16 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Christine Crawford, a brother, Malcom Wagner and a sister, Joyce Henry.

Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Sunday from 2 - 6 pm. Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 6, at 11:00 AM in the funeral home, with Rick Ortiz officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Rural Cemetery, Youngstown. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a Charity of one's choice.
