Obituary of Margaret M. Murray

Margaret "Peggy" M. Murray, age 84 of Youngstown, died Tuesday May 25, 2010 in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Residence in Lewiston, after a long illness.
Peggy was born September 16, 1925 in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of the late Patrick J. and Nora (O'Shea) Browne. She was a 1944 graduate of Mt. St. Joseph Academy, a 1948 graduate of Children's Hospital School of Nursing, and received additional education from John Hopkins University. During the 1950's she worked as a Registered Nurse at Children's Hospital in Buffalo. On May 19, 1956 she married Neil W, Murray, Jr. who predeceased her on August 12, 2006. Peggy was a communicant of St. Bernard's RC Church in Youngstown. She volunteered at the St. Francis Center in Niagara Falls and enjoyed playing cards on Tuesday's.
She is survived by her children, Patrick C. (Roberta) Murray of Rochester, MN, Cornelius F. (Terri) Murray of Lincoln, NB, Peggy A. Murray of Lewiston, and Nora M. Murray of Shawnee, KS; a sister, Ann (James) Kontos of Buffalo; 16 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 5 brothers, William M., John P., Joseph F., Rev. James J., and Frank P. Browne; and a sister, Mary M. Browne.
Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston on
Thursday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 28, at 10:00 AM in St. Bernard's RC Church, Hinman and Second Sts., Youngstown, with the Rev. Msgr. Thomas Moran officiating. (Please assemble at Church). Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Kenmore. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Fatima Shrine, PO Box 167 1023 Swann Rd., Youngstown, NY 14174. or to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094.
