Philip "Lee" L. Harris, age 64 of Youngstown, died Sunday May 23, 2010
in Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, after a long illness.
Lee was born December 8, 1945 in Woodward, Clearfield County, PA, the son of the late Philip L., Sr. and Ellen (Bardo) Harris and has lived in Youngstown the past 34 years. Lee was an U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam, serving from 1965 until his honorable discharge in 1967. He was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and Expert (Rifle M-14) Badge. Lee was a Laborer, employed by Union Carbide in Niagara Falls for 17 years. From 1986 to 1996 he was employed by Goodyear Chemical Co. and from 1996 to his retirement in 2000 he worked at the Recycling Plant for Modern Disposal in Model City. Lee enjoyed hunting, fishing, football, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his dearest longtime companion of 34 years, Theresa (Wine) Cutlip; his children, Eric (Kimberly) Harris of Ft. Carson, CO, Brian Harris of Driggs, ID, and Bobbie Jo Harris of Lockport; his step children, William (Kim), Michael (Lori), and Dennis (Nicole) Cutlip; his brothers, Frederick (Nancy), William (Mary), James (Judy), David (Brandy), and Kenneth (Dawn) Harris; his step mother, Esther Harris of Niagara Falls, NY; a sister in law, Patty Harris; several grandchildren, several step brothers and sisters, and his special "little buddy", Hope Cutlip. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Savanna Cutlip and a brother, Thomas Harris. ,
Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Thursday from 4 - 8 pm. Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 28, at 11:00 AM in the funeral home, with the Rev. Charles Lamb officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Oakland Rural Cemetery, Youngstown. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Roswell Park Cancer Institute, PO Box 631, Buffalo, NY 14240-9856.
