Obituary of Janice Ruth Voelker
Janice Ruth Voelker, age 61 of Ransomville, died unexpectedly on Thursday August 17, 2017 at the Eastern Niagara Hospital in Lockport.
Janice was born July 18, 1956 in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of the late Glenwood J. and Margaret (Goldpenny) Moeller. A lifelong resident, she was a 1974 graduate of Wilson High School. Janice was employed as an office clerk by Franklin Global Strategies in Wheatfield. She was a very active member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church at North Ridge where she married Philip D. Voelker on July 26, 1986. Janice taught Sunday School and was a member of the choir. She was a member of the Pioneer Association of Volunteers and had a lifelong involvement with "Camp Pioneer" in Angola. Janice also was a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League.
Philip predeceased her on October 4, 2012. She is survived by two brothers, Tim (Judi) Moeller of North Tonawanda and Daniel Moeller of Johnson City, TN; and a Goddaughter, Allisa Smith.
Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Monday from 3 - 7 PM. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, August 22, at 11:00 AM in St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church at North Ridge, 4169 Church Rd., Town of Cambria, with the Rev. Robert Hoffman officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church at North Ridge or to Camp Pioneer, 9324 Lake Shore Rd. Angola, NY 14006.
