Obituary of Donald H. Pils

Donald H. Pils, age 87 formerly of North Tonawanda, died Monday May 10. 2010 in the Briody Health Care Facility in Lockport, after a lengthy illness. Donald was born November 12, 1922 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late Raymond H. and Grace (Hunsburger) Pils and was a 1941 graduate of LaSalle High School. A veteran of WW II, he served in the U.S. Navy 1943 to 1945. Donald reenlisted in the Navy in 1953 and served until his honorable discharge in 1955. He was an Electrician, employed by E.I. DuPont Co., in Niagara Falls, NY for 35 years. He was a member of American Legion O. Leo Curtiss Post #830 in Ransomville, NY and was active in the North Tonawanda Senior Center. He is survived by two sons, Terry N. (Mickey) Pils of the Town of Cambria and Corry B. Pils of Ransomville; 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers, Douglas and Paul R. Pils; a sister, June Overton; and his long time companion, Louise Pilarski. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Wednesday from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ransomville Free Library, 3733 Ransomville Rd., Ransomville, NY 14131.
