Obituary of Cleo B. Van Aken

Cleo "Kay" B. Van Aken, age 78 of Lewiston, formerly of Creek Rd., died Thursday April 29, 2010 in the Fairchild Manor Nursing Home in Lewiston, after a lengthy illness.
Kay was born July 22, 1931 in Rockton, PA, the daughter of the late Gilbert and Sarah (Wright) Luce and has lived in the Town of Lewiston since she was 8 years old. She married Irving Van Aken on February 10, 1948. He predeceased her on January 9, 1988. Kay was a School Bus Driver in the Lewiston Porter School District, employed by Ransomville Bus Lines for 25 years. She also worked in the office at Cammack's Automotive on Balmer Rd, for 20 years.
While her husband, Irving, was alive, Kay was very active in the Youngstown Presbyterian Church. She was an active member of the Assembly of God Church in Lewiston for many years.
She is survived by her children, Lorrie (William) Cammack of Ransomville, Carol (Daniel) Crossman of Lexington, SC, and David (Debbie) Van Aken of Wapella, IL; her grandchildren, Amy Schweitzer, Lisa Powell, Marcus and Matthew Crossman; her sisters, Joyce Geer of Florida, Joanne Collins of New York and Donna Coleman of Colton, NY; 4 great grandchildren and her sister in law, Kate Jenosheck of Youngstown. She was predeceased by 4 sisters, Althea Carson, Sarah Brown, May Nease, and Ila Grose; and a brother, William Jenosheck.
Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Monday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, May 4, at 11:00 AM in the funeral home, with the Rev. David Sierrano officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Rural Cemetery, Youngstown. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 101 John James Audubon Pkwy., Amherst, NY 14228 or to the Alzheimer's Assoc. of WNY, 2805 Wherle Dr. Suite 6, Williamsville, NY 14221-7380.
