William B. Taylor, age 68 , a 30 year resident of Waterport, died unexpectedly at his residence on Sunday August 26, 2012. Bill was born July 22, 1944 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late Richard W. and Emily (Benk) Taylor and was raised in Youngstown. He was a 1962 graduate of Lewiston Porter High School and received his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Buffalo in 1966. In 1972 Bill founded R.W. Taylor Contractor, Inc. in Waterport, NY and ran it until his retirement in 2009. Bill was a former member of St. John Episcopal Church in Youngstown. He was passionate about hunting, fishing, and farming and loved to winter in The Villages, Florida. Bill was predeceased by his wife, Jacqueline D. (Wilcox) Taylor on December 21, 2010. He is survived by his children, Tamara (Kevin) Edward of Tomah, WI and Megan Taylor of Youngstown, NY; his step sons, Jesse (Rebecca) Holka of The Villages, FL, Steven Stevens of Lewiston, NY, and Douglas (Joann) Stevens of Watertown, NY; his grandchildren, Brendan Hall, Allyson Taylor, and Gabriel Moyer; his step grandchildren, Lynette Brandon, Doug, Janelle, and David Stevens, Jessica (Colt) McDowell, and Jamie Holka; his brothers, James (Virginia) Taylor of Lyndonville, NY and Richard (Althea) Taylor of Falls Church, VA; and several nieces and nephews. , Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston on Friday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 1, at 11:00 am in the funeral home, with the Rev. Abe Dueck officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Rural Cemetery, Youngstown. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Assoc., PO Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13270-3049.
