William J. Robins, 78, of Lockport, NY died Thursday May 4, 2017 in Eastern Niagara Hospital Lockport after a brief illness. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on February 21, 1939 to the late Stanley and Elizabeth (Laughlin) Robins. Bill was raised in Lewiston and graduated from Lewiston-Porter High School in 1957. After graduating he enlisted in the U.S Air Force on September 17, 1958 until his honorable discharge on September 14, 1962 with the rank of Airman First Class. Bill began working for the Atlantic Coast Lincoln Railroad and the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad for 10 years. He spent the next 30 years working in sales at many local car dealership including Massaro Chevrolet; Timkey Buick; Barton Chevrolet and Krueger Chevrolet. Bill was a sport enthusiast and for a brief time after high school had a tryout as a pitcher for the San Francisco Giants. On October 17, 1964 Bill married the former Catherine Robinson and celebrated 52 years of marriage. In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by 2 daughters; Laurie Robins and Susan (Adam) Kern; 2 brothers; John Robins; Earl (Pam) Robins; a sister; Iris (Chuck) Schoccio; 3 grandchildren Hayden; Paige and Chase Diviak and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Rd. Ransomville, Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM the funeral service will be held Monday (May 8) at 11:00 AM from the funeral home, burial to follow at North Ridge Cemetery, Town of Cambria. In lieu of flowers memorials to the North Ridge United Methodist Church 3930 North Ridge Rd. Lockport, NY 14094 or the American Cancer Society.
