Paul Norbut

Paul J. "Grumpy" Norbut, age 75 of Ransomville, died Saturday May 10, 2014 in the Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, after a lengthy illness. Paul was born December 29, 1938 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late Joseph and Lottie (Kania) Norbut. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1956 On October 20, 1962 he married JoAnn (Bush) Norbut and they moved to Ransomville from the Town of Niagara in 1969. Paul worked at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital as a Maintenance Engineer for 25 years, retiring at age 65. Paul was a former member of the Town of Niagara Fire Co. and was a member of the Ransomville Volunteer Fire Co. for over 35 years and has served as a Fire Commissioner in the Ransomville Fire District. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed making NASCAR models. He is survived by his wife, JoAnn; a son, William "Billy" Norbut of Ransomville; and a sister, Peggy Norbut of Niagara Falls, NY. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Tuesday from 6 - 9 pm. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, May 14, at 11:00 AM in the funeral home, with the Rev. William Lowery of the Ransomville Free Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in North Ridge Cemetery, Church Rd., Town of Cambria. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ransomville Vol. Fire Co. Ambulance Fund, PO Box 239, Ransomville, NY 14131or to the Ransomville Antique Truck Fund.
