Patricia A. Galyen, a cherished resident of the Village of Wilson, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 20, 2025. She was 82 years old.
Born on May 15, 1942, in Jersey City, New Jersey, Patricia was the beloved daughter of the late Frank and Helen (nee Orlowski) Alexander. She graduated from Matawan High School in the Class of 1960 and, shortly after, began a lifelong journey of love and partnership when she married her devoted husband, Randall E. Galyen, on February 13, 1965, in Keyport, New Jersey. Their 60 years of marriage were a testament to their deep commitment and shared joy.
Patricia was a gifted artist, known for her exquisite freehand drawings that captured the beauty of the world around her. She also had a passion for tending to her flower gardens and found delight in solving crosswords and word searches. A loyal fan of game shows and a steadfast supporter of the Buffalo Bills, she radiated enthusiasm and warmth. Above all, Patricia treasured time spent with her family, creating memories that will be lovingly remembered. Patricia’s legacy of artistry, devotion, and love will forever inspire those fortunate enough to have known her. Her memory will remain in the hearts of family and friends for generations to come.
Predeceased by her dear siblings, Frank and Helen Alexander, Patricia is survived by her devoted husband, Randall; her loving sons, Shawn T. (Antoinette) and Scott R. (Melissa) Galyen; and her caring sister-in-law, Frances Alexander. She is also fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Patricia’s honor on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at 10 AM at St. Brendan on the Lake (Our Lady of the Rosary Worship Site), 345 Lake Street, Wilson, NY. Family and friends are kindly invited to assemble at the church. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hardison Funeral Homes, Inc., 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville, NY.
In keeping with Patricia’s spirit of kindness, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in her honor to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
