Nettie Martin

Mrs. Nettie Bradley Martin, formerly of Youngstown and wife of the late Grant W. Martin, passed away Sunday October 23, 2016 at her home in Walterboro, SC. She was 100. Nettie was born in Lockport, NY March 17, 1916, the daughter of the late Frank and Theda (Lafler) Bradley. She and her late husband owned and operated Martin's Dry Goods Store in Youngstown for many years. She was a member of the Youngstown Study Club, the Tatler Bridge Club, and the First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown. After moving to Walterboro over twenty years ago to be near her daughter, she became a member of Bedon Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Lynn M. Anderson of Walterboro, and by two sisters, Esther Hardison and Mildred Hillman both of Ransomville; three grandchildren, Meagan A. Marvin of Walterboro, and Elspeth C. Dyal and Jeffrey M. Anderson of Lexington, SC; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jane Martin McCormick; two sisters, Marion Shippy and Dora Chestnut; and two brothers, Miles and Harvey Bradley. Funeral services will be held at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Rd., Ransomville on Saturday, November 5, at 11:00 am with the Rev. Charles Lamb officiating. There will be no prior visitation. Burial will follow in North Ridge Cemetery, Church Rd. Town of Cambria. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bedon Baptist Church Family Life Center, 2370 Cottageville Highway, Walterboro, SC 29488.
