Ransomville

Marvin Harlee Kneeppel, a beloved resident of Ransomville, NY, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at the Buffalo VA Medical Center after a courageous battle with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL), linked to exposure to Agent Orange during his service in Vietnam over 50 years ago. Marvin's family hopes his story inspires others to seek testing and care if experiencing similar symptoms.

Born on March 24, 1949, in North Falls, NY, Marvin was the son of the late Lamont Kneeppel and Lois Keir Harms. Following his graduation from high school, Marvin answered the call to serve his country, joining the United States Marine Corps. He proudly served as a Lance Corporal in Vietnam from 1969 to 1970, earning numerous honors including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with one star, Vietnam Campaign Medal with device, and the Rifle Marksman Badge.

On February 15, 1969, Marvin married the love of his life, Carolyn Schultz, in St. Peter Lutheran Church in North Ridge, Lockport. Together, they built a life filled with love and shared dreams, settling in Ransomville where they raised their family.

Marvin was the proud owner of Kneeppel Flooring, retiring in 2019 after many years of hard work and dedication. In his free time, Marvin cherished the tranquility of the outdoors, enjoyed hunting, and indulged his passion for movies of all genres.

Marvin is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Carol Jean; his loving children, Katrena Hart of Allen, TX, and Ira (Kara Kembro) Kneeppel of Milton, FL; his cherished grandchildren, Tyler, Brooks, Grayson, Gabriel, and Griffyn; and his caring brother, Wayne (Barbara) Kneeppel of Gasport, NY. He is also fondly remembered by nieces, nephews, and many friends.

At Marvin's request, there will be no prior visitation. Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES, INC., 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Marvin's honor to the Buffalo VA Medical Center.
