Marion H. Dietz, age 84 of Wilson, died Friday September 14, 2018 at the Buffalo General Medical Center after a brief illness. Marion was born November 8, 1933 in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of the late Herbert W. and Alice F. (Reusch) Schilling. She was a 1950 graduate of Girls Vocational High School in Buffalo and after graduation she worked for Iroquois Bag Company in Buffalo until her marriage to Gordon A. Dietz, Sr. on February 6, 1954. They had resided in the Town of Wilson since then. Marion worked as an assistant at O'Connor's Lakeside Farm in Ransomville for 30 yrs. She then was employed as a Deli Clerk at Tops Market in Lewiston for 7 years, retiring in 1999. Marion was a communicant of St. Brendan on the Lake RC Church in Wilson. She was also a member of Ladies Auxiliary of Wilson Volunteer Fire Co. for over 34 years, a member of the Golden Agers of Newfane, the Wilson Senior Citizens, and the Ransomville Rural Retirees. Marion enjoyed sewing, traveling, gardening, but mostly being with her grandchildren. Her husband, Gordon, predeceased her on April 27, 1999. She is survived by her children, Linda A. Dietz, Gordon A. (Donna) Dietz, Jr., Barbara (Dayne) Ellanna, and Michelle (Ronald) Walck; a sister, Diana (the late Robert) St. Laurent; 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Delores Mattoon and a brother, Raymond Schilling.: Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Monday from 4 - 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 18, at 11:00am in St. Brendan on the Lake RC Church, 345 Lake St., Wilson, with the Rev. Jozef Dudzik officiating. (Please assemble at Church). Burial will follow in North Ridge Cemetery, Town of Cambria.
