Leroy B. Runkles

Leroy B. Runkles of the Town of Lewiston, NY, passed away suddenly on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at the age of 69. Born on November 16, 1955, in Frederick, MD, he was the son of the late Charles L. Runkles and Laura E. (nee Moore) Sparkman. 

Leroy married the former Diane L. Miller on November 20, 1992, in Niagara Falls, NY. He retired from the local plumbers union 22 in 2003. Following retirement, Leroy enjoyed golfing, playing guitar with his friends, riding his Harley Davidsons, but most of all, loved his Havanese, Chloe and George. Walking them with his wife around the neighborhood was a cherished activity.

Besides his beloved wife, Diane, Leroy is survived by his children, Bryant (Rhonda), Bridget and Heather; his step-son, Scott (Melissa) Meogrossi; many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren; dear siblings, Darlene (Terry) Adkins and Michael (Debbie) Runkles; and also survived by nieces and nephews.

Arrangements entrusted to the HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES, INC., 401 Ridge Street, Lewiston. Services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. 

If desired, memorials may be made to a local pet shelter in Leroy's memory.
