Joan A. Pillittere, 73, of Lewiston, NY, died on Friday, July 20, 2012 in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence, Lewiston, after a lengthy illness. Born in Buffalo, NY, on August 14, 1938 to the late Angelo and Jennie (Dolce) Bella. On July 16, 1955, she was married to Joseph T. Pillittere, the former NYS Assemblymen, and they have resided in Lewiston since the mid 1950's. Joan was a member and past president of the Escarpment Belles and a member of the Lewiston Council of the Arts, but her most enjoyment came with spending time with her family and grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Joseph, she is survived by four children, Michelle (Richard) George of Town of Tonawanda, Jennifer (Matthew) Korzelius of Town of Wheatfield, Joseph (Lori) Pillittere, Jr. of Chautauqua County and Donald (Lori) Pillittere of Rochester; grandchildren, Donald Joseph, David, Julie, Matthew (Rosa), Mark (Amber), Mike, Maria, Martin, Kaitlin, Nicholas, Saray, Joseph, Ashley, Cassie and Caitlin; two great-grandchildren, Arianna and Francesca; four sisters, Kathleen (Thaddeus) Ciesiulka of Cheektowaga, Rose Marie (late Steven) Krawczyk of Lancaster, Ann (late William) Doll of Scranton, PA and Carol Jean (John) Priesler of North Tonawanda; and her son-in-law, Jim Baldwin. She was predeceased by her daughter, Georgine Baldwin, who died on November 21, 2009. Friends may call at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES, N. Fourth & Ridge Sts., Lewiston, on Sunday from 2-6 PM and on Monday from 4-7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday (July 24th) at 11:00 AM from St. Peter's R.C. Church, 600 Center St., Lewiston, NY, with Rev. Michael Zuffoletto officiating. (Please assemble at church.) Burial to follow at Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston.
