Janet Ann Nowak

Janet Nowak passed away peacefully on April 6, 2023 in Amarillo,TX surrounded by family. Janet was born on March 11, 1937 to Henry and Mary(Collins) Sullivan. She attended St. Mary's high school and went on to work at Niagara University. She married the love of her life, Andrew Nowak, on June 16, 1956, who preceded her in death on December 7, 2010. Janet’s first love was her family. She was an outstanding seamstress, and it showed in the clothes that she made for her children and grandchildren. Among the favorites, her knitted sweaters, hats and mittens. Janet was a longtime secretary at Prince of Peace rectory in Niagara Falls, NY. Her other love was being a dance teacher at Miss Bev's Dance Studio. She also looked forward to her monthly breakfasts with her girlfriends.

Janet joins in spirit her husband Andrew H. Nowak along with her firstborn Andrew Vincent Nowak. She was also predeceased by five brothers and four sisters.

Janet will be lovingly remembered by her three sons, Martin of Bradford, PA, Vincent of Amarillo, TX, Sean,of Lewiston, NY. Three daughters, Linda Hardison of Lewiston, NY, Diane(Joe) Ippolito of Fort Myers, FL, and Katie Smith of Sewickley, PA.

Janet will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Eric (Erika)Nowak, Samantha(Adrian)Villegas, James Nowak, Ryan(Katie)Nowak, Sean Nowak , and Jaden Farrell. Gregory(Rachel)Martin, Evan and Ian Hardison,Nicole (Paul) Szeglowski , Rachel (John) McLauchlin. Kyle (Melissa) Ippolito. Lila, Whitney, Wyatt and Levi Smith.

She is also survive by great-grandchildren Lincoln, Lilliana, and Lilah Szeglowski. McKenna, Jackson, Hadley Miner and Grady McLauchlin. Adalynn, Hailey and Mila Ippolito. Avery, Eli, Oakley, Haizlee and Daxton Nowak.

Friends and family may call at Hardison Funeral Home in Lewiston from 3 to 6pm on Friday, April 14. A mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, April 15, 10am at Saint Peter’s Roman Catholic Church in Lewiston, New York.
