James A. Szostak

James A. Szostak, 70, of Ransomville, NY, peacefully passed away at home on January 21, 2025, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was under the compassionate care of Niagara Hospice. Born on June 23, 1954, in Niagara Falls, NY, James was the beloved son of the late Alex and Helen (née Salacinski) Szostak.

James was a proud 1972 graduate of Lewiston-Porter High School. Over the years, he dedicated his hardworking spirit to several companies, including Conrail and Modern Disposal, and drove trucks for multiple construction companies. James had a deep love for the outdoors, enjoying hunting and fishing in his spare time.

On June 10, 2005, in Lewiston, NY, James married Joanne Stanley. Together, they cherished 19 wonderful years of marriage. The family extends heartfelt thanks to Niagara Hospice, especially Judy Bailey, for the exceptional care provided to Jim.

James is survived by his loving wife, Joanne; his children, Christopher (Katherine) Neal of Lewiston, NY, Michael (Hope) Neal of Statesville, NC, and Kevin (Carrie Cox) Neal of Ransomville, NY. He was the proud grandfather to Lauren, Morgan, Chloe, Shane, and Madison, and adored great-grandfather to Madelyn. He is also survived by his brother-in-laws, David Stanley of Youngstown, NY, and Steven Stanley of Davies, FL, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Arrangements have been entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES, INC., 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville. Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
