James Munro

James B. Munro, age 67 of Youngstown NY, died Thursday June 17, 2010 at his residence under the loving care of his family and Niagara Hospice. Mr. Munro was born February 6, 1943 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, the son of the late Alexander and Isabella (Bruce) Munro. James married Linda C. (Thompson) Munro on October 7, 1967 in Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada and they moved to Youngstown from Hightstown, NJ in 1979. He was employed by TAM Ceramics in Niagara Falls as a sales representative and Business Manager, retiring in1998. He enjoyed his work which took him to many different countries, including China, where he would meet the people and learn their culture and history. James was very interested in computers and had a few of his articles published as well as appearing on the cover of a computer magazine. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church of Youngstown, a member of the American Ceramic Society, and a volunteer and former Board Member of the Youngstown Free Library. He enjoyed traveling, camping, reading, history, model railroads, and Sudoku. James is survived by his wife, Linda; a daughter, Nancy E. Munro of Sanborn; a son, Bradley J. Munro of New Mexico; and a grandson, Marcus J. Jackson of Youngstown. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, June 25, at 10:00 AM in the First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown, 100 Church St., Youngstown, with the Rev. Charles Lamb officiating. There will be no prior visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094 or to the Youngstown Free Library, 240 Lockport St., Youngstown, NY 14174. Arrangements have been entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Sts., Lewiston.
