Irving O. Larson, 92, of Lewiston, NY, died unexpectedly Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at Mount Saint Mary's Hospital. Born in Seattle, WA on November 18, 1920 to the late Charles and Ida (Anderson) Larson. Irving was a graduate from the University of Washington receiving both his bachelor's and master's degree in chemical engineering. On June 3, 1944, he enlisted in the US Navy and served in the Pacific Theatre until his honorable discharge in August 1946. In 1949 he married Eleanor J. Walz and they moved to Lewiston, NY where he was employed by the E.I. Dupont Co., Niagara Falls, for 35 years, retiring in 1982 as a Senior Development Engineer. Irving was a deeply religious man where he lived his life doing the Lord good works. He was a founding member of the Niagara Frontier Bible Church, Lewiston, in 1969. In addition to his wife, Eleanor, he is survived by five children, Elizabeth (William) Livingston of Elma, NY; Ruth Larson, Charles (Mary) Larson, Karen (Stephen) Fisher, all of Lewiston; and David (Beth) Larson of Ithaca, NY. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Gold and brother, Gilbert Larson. Friends may call at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Sts., Lewiston, Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from the Niagara Frontier Bible Church, 5287 Bronson Dr., Lewiston, on Saturday, March 9th at 10 AM, with Rev. Thomas Broderick officiating. Burial to follow at Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Niagara Frontier Bible Church or the International Student, Inc., P.O. Box C, Colorado Springs, CO 80901.
