Eugenia "Jean" Kieron Furgal, age 89, formerly of Lewiston died Monday May 30, 2011 in Elderwood Health Care at Crestwood in Wheatfield after a lengthy illness. Jean was born March 6, 1922 in Niagara Falls, NY, the daughter of the late Joseph and Michalina (Gronek) Kieron. She was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School and Bryant & Stratton Business Institute of Buffalo. Jean was a charter member of the Niagara Falls chapter of the National Secretaries Association and member for 64 years (now International Association of Administrative Professionals). She was employed as Secretary to the VP of Sales at Hooker Chemical, High Energy Division of Olin Mathieson, Secretary to the President at the First National Bank of Miami, and retired from the Procurement department at Bell Aerospace. She is survived by her beloved son, Mark Kieron Furgal (Lynn M. Sievert); a sister, Helen (Jack) Heist; a brother, Ted Kieron; and five nieces and a nephew. Jean was predeceased by two brothers, Henry and Joseph Stephen Kieron. Her family would like to extend a special thank you to the CNAs, Nurses, Staff and Administrators of Crestwood who cared for Eugenia. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston on Friday from 12:00 noon to 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 4, at 10:00 am in the Niagara University Alumni Chapel, with the Rev. Bruce Krause officiating. (Please assemble at Niagara University) Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston.
