Edwin P. Torba, age 98, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2025, at the Elderwood of Grand Island Nursing Home. Born on August 11, 1926, in Buffalo, New York, Edwin was a proud veteran who served as a T4 in the US Army during World War II. He later retired from the Niagara Falls Air Force Base as a Carpenter/Woodworking Machine Operator.

 Edwin was an accomplished musician, wood worker and carpenter. He enjoyed playing the lowrey organ and listened to easy listening music that included 30’s, 60’s and 70’s music and could often be seen attending and enjoying many activities that were offered at the senior center in Lewiston, NY, which included playing bingo, enjoying lunch and attending all activities. His warm presence and kind heart will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

 He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Bernice (nee Pietrkiewicz) Suchnicki, who passed away in 1989 and his dear daughter Elaine Sweitzer. 

 Edwin is survived by his loving daughters, Donna Sider of Youngstown, NY and Arizona, Carol Turner of Clifton Forge, VA. dear sisters, Rose Czarnecki of Youngstown, NY, Teresa Helbling of Rochester, NY and Mary Ellsworth of West Covina, CA; 9 cherished grandchildren, 9 adored great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. 

 Services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES, INC.
