Edward Redmond, Sr.

October 29, 1935 — August 9, 2013

Edward A. Redmond, Sr., age 77 of Ransomville NY, passed away gracefully at his home on Friday, August 9, 2013 while under the loving care of his family and Niagara Hospice. Ed was born October 29, 1935 in Iroquois, Ontario, Canada, the son of the late Cedric and Helen (Spooner) Redmond. He married Eldora I. "Polly" (Pollard) Redmond on January 10, 1956 and they have lived in Ransomville the past 28 years. Ed was a Heavy Equipment Operator and was a member of Operating Engineers Local # 463. He retired in 1981 after 27 years of service. He enjoyed fishing and camping and was very proud of the many projects he worked on as an operating engineer. Ed was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Eldora "Polly"; his children, Edward A. (Tina) Redmond, Jr. of Niagara Falls, NY, Joann (Douglas) Stevens of Watertown, NY, Thomas (Debbie) Redmond and Denis (Candance) Redmond both of Wilson, NY, and Nicole (Mark) Feor of Ransomville; two sisters, Edna (Melvin) Ashley of Ogdensburg, NY and Suellen Higgins of New Jersey; a brother, Donald Redmond of Ogdensburg, NY; 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers, Ernest and Ronald Redmond. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road Ransomville on Monday from 4 - 7 pm. Funeral Services will be private.
