Debra "Debby" Comerford, aged 68, passed away peacefully in her home in the Village of Youngstown on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving family and under the compassionate care of Niagara Hospice.
Born on June 27, 1956, in Niagara Falls, New York, Debby was the daughter of the late Robert K. and Nancy R. (nee Wolf) Litchka. A 1974 graduate of LaSalle Senior High School, Debby went on to earn her bachelor's degree from Buffalo State College in 1978. She married the love of her life, Stuart P. Comerford, on September 17, 1988, at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Together, they made their home and raised their family in Youngstown.
Debby worked as a Customs House Broker for J.V. Carr and Livingston, retiring in 2019. Following her retirement, she enjoyed working as a hostess for the Youngstown Diner. She loved spending her days with her family, especially her beloved grandson, Cooper. A die-hard sports fan, Debby was always cheering for her Buffalo Bills and Sabres. She was also a dedicated member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Youngstown Fire Company and the Youngstown Lions Club. Debby's legacy of love, dedication, and community service will forever be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.
Debby is survived by her beloved husband, Stuart; her loving sons, Ryan S. and Brandon R. (Cailey) Comerford; cherished grandson Cooper; her dear siblings, Susan (Tim) Niland and Peter (Isabella) Litchka; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will be present to receive friends on Sunday, January 12, 2025, from 4-8 PM at the Hardison Funeral Homes, Inc., 401 Ridge Street, Lewiston. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025, at St. John's Episcopal Church, 110 Chestnut Street, Youngstown, at 10 AM. Friends are invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Debby's memory to the Youngstown Ladies Auxiliary, Youngstown Lions Club, or Diamonds in the Ruff.
