David M. Yash, Sr., age 84, of Lewiston died Thursday, May 16, 2024, at OLP of Lewiston, NY. David was born September 26, 1939, in Buffalo, the son of the late Emil P. and Helen (Anthol) Yash.
He was the owner/operator of Yash Roofing in Lewiston for over 30 years. David was the ultimate family man who dedicated himself to his family and their wellbeing. He was very proud of his abilities to maintain his home, doing carpentry and home improvements on his own. He loved local history, westerns, and reading. David was a member of St. Peter RC Church in Lewiston where he served as an usher and was a former member of the Holy Name Society.
He is survived by his wife: Annette M. (Kruppa) Yash, a son: David M. (Janice) Yash, Jr.; two daughters, Karen M. (Lewis) Bean and Paulette M. Yash; and a granddaughter, Audry Yash. He is also survived by seven step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his twin brother, Donald M. Yash.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 20, at 10:30 am in St. Peter RC Church, 600 Center St., Lewiston, with Rev. Czeslaw Krysa officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Vincent dePaul Society.
