Anthony Joseph Cipolla, 65, of Williamsville, New York, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 9, 2025, at Roswell Park Cancer Center after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born on June 23, 1959, in Ransomville, NY, to the late Antonio F. and Mary A. (nee Nicosia) Cipolla.
A 1977 graduate of Wilson High School, Anthony pursued higher education at the University of Rochester, where he earned degrees in Economics, History, and Psychology. Following his graduation, Anthony embarked on a distinguished 40-year career as a financial advisor with Wells Fargo and Morgan Stanley.
Anthony was a die-hard fan of the Buffalo Bills and Sabres, and he also passionately supported college teams, including UB Sports, Penn State, and his daughter's alma mater, the University of Texas. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing with friends and colleagues.
Anthony dedicated his time and expertise to various organizations, serving on the board of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of WNY, Leadership Buffalo, and as a retired college football official. He was actively involved in Mercy Flight, The Buffalo City Mission, Roswell Park Cancer Institute, The Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame, and was a member of the Park Country Club.
Anthony is survived by his loving daughter, Maren Cipolla of Los Angeles, CA; his caring siblings, Vernetta (Gordon) Kenyon, Frank Cipolla, and Rose (Douglas) Edwards; also survived by his former wife, Merry Jo Montedoro; cherished nieces and nephews; and his dear best friend Don Basil.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 13, 2025, from 4-8 PM at HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES, INC., 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at St. Brendan on the Lake (Our Lady of the Rosary Worship Site), 345 Lake Street, Wilson, NY, at 10 AM. Friends are asked to please assemble at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Anthony's memory to Roswell Park or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
