Alfred E. Sorice, age 89 of Lewiston, died unexpectedly on Friday, January 26, 2018, in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston. Alfred was born December 2, 1928 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late John and Catherine (Kosierowska) Sorice. He lived most of his life in Niagara Falls, attended Trott Vocational High School, and moved to Lewiston 16 years ago. Alfred was an U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1950 to 1954. He was a Pipefitter, employed by Occidental Chemical Co.(formerly Hooker Chemical Co.) in Niagara Falls, retiring in 1988. In his younger years, Alfred had played semi pro football. He was an avid NY Yankees fan and had bowled at Frontier Lanes for many years. He was also a great fan of western movies. Above all else Alfred loved and lived to be with his grandchildren. He is survived by a daughter, Karen (Michael) Torrie of Lewiston; his grandchildren, Samuel and Madison Torrie; his former wife, Joanne Sorice of Niagara Falls; and five nieces and nephews, Bill (Joyce) Kopenski, Rich (Donna) Kopenski, Donna Cippletti, Chuck Zimmerman, and Nancy Sorice. He was predeceased by a son, John Sorice; a sister, Rose Kopenski; and a brother, Joseph Sorice. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N.
