Ruth Sirianni (1920-2016) passed away peacefully on Monday March 21, 2016 after a brief illness. Ruth was raised in Angola, Indiana the third daughter for Paul and Hope Blackburn. She was married to Josef W. Sirianni in 1939 for 40 years and has lived in Lewiston, NY for 62 years. Ruth's "wonderful world of music" began in a happy, musical family. In the sixth grade she was asked to play in the high school orchestra, which she did for seven years. She won a national contest with her High School Orchestra and a Scholarship from the Indianapolis Conservatory of Music. A viola was a loving gift from her husband when she arrived in Niagara Falls in 1939 that she played her entire life. Ruth played in the Niagara Falls Symphony Orchestra for over 20 years. She taught piano and violin privately in her home, at Grizanti Studios and at Stella Niagara. Ruth was a certified New York State Music Teacher. She is the 2015 Hart Interfaith Service Award Recipient. Ruth enjoyed oil painting, shopping and the art of life often remarking, "I would rather wear out than rust out." Ruth leaves many wonderful, neighbors, friends, family members, and her kind caregivers from Hart Interfaith. She is survived by two daughters and. sons-in-law: Joyce E. Sirianni (John W. Owen, Jr.) of Youngstown, NY and Anita (Sirianni) Lymburner (Keith Lymburner) of West Palm Beach, FL; and two brothers-in-law, Peter Sirianni (Joan) of Lewiston, NY and Frank Sirianni (Juley) of Cleveland, OH. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Sts., Lewiston on Tuesday, March 29, from 4 to 8 pm. A funeral service and celebration of her life will be held Wednesday, March 30, at 11:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church of Lewiston, 505 Cayuga St., Lewiston with the Rev. Laura Norris-Buisch and the Rev. Elizabeth Morgan officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hart Interfaith, Inc., 505 Cayuga St., Lewiston, NY 14092.
