David W. Taylor, age 78 of Lewiston, died Monday November 25, 2013 in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, after a long illness. David was born May 23, 1935 in Lackawanna, NY, the son of the late Dr. Richard and Marie (Salisbury) Taylor and has resided in Lewiston since 1963. He was a 1953 graduate of Blasdell High School and received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Bowling Green State University in 1957. David was employed in the Personnel Department of Stauffer Chemical for seven years. He then worked in the Security Department of Niagara County Community College for 23 years, retiring in 1997. David was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Niagara Falls where he had served as a Deacon and a Trustee. He was also a former member of the Lewiston-Queenston Rotary and an avid golfer. He is survived by a son, David K. (Laurey) Taylor of Tonawanda; a daughter, Suzan A. (Christopher) Wren of Baltimore, MD; his grandchildren, Payton and Jayden Taylor, Victoria and Aaron Wren; two brothers, Dr. Richard L. (Janet) Taylor of Adrian, MI and Dr. Michael (Wendy) Taylor of Portland, ME; and his former wife, Julie Gordon. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston on Saturday, November 30, from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, December 1, at 2:00 PM in the funeral home, with the Rev. David Crapnell officiating. Burial in Hillcrest Cemetery in Hamburg will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Chistopher and Dana Reeve Foundation, www.christopherreeve.org.
