Joan L. Radel, age 80 of Lewiston, died Monday October 17, 2016 in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, after a lengthy illness.
Joan was born June 7, 1936 in Andalusia, AL, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Clark) Aughtmon. She was a Purchasing Manager, employed by the Carborundum Co. in Niagara Falls, NY from 1974 to her retirement in 2006. Joan was a former member and "Queen" of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed quilting and crafts but most importantly loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Joan was predeceased by her husband, Ronald R. Radel, in 2003. She is survived by a daughter, Diana (Scott) Tierney of Lewiston; a son, Jeffrey Rebon of Ft. Myers, FL; her grandchildren, Kathryn and Patrick Tierney; a sister, Melva-Jean Stonebraker of Cortland, NY; a brother, C.W. Aughtmon of Sanborn, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Ronnie Aughtmon.
Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston on Thursday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 PM. Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 21, at 10:00 AM in the funeral home, Lewiston, with her nephew, Ronnie Aughtmon officiating. Burial will follow in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, WNY. 742 Delaware Ave., Buffalo, NY 14209.
