Mary Ann (Canterbury) Rafferty, age 65, lifelong resident of Lewiston and Niagara Falls NY, died Friday August 14, 2015 in the Schoellkopf Health Center in Niagara Falls, after a lengthy illness. Mary Ann was born August 3, 1950 in Niagara Falls, NY, the daughter of the late Charles and Cora (Wells) Canterbury. She was a 1968 graduate of Lewiston-Porter High School and in 2001 received her bachelor's Degree in Social Service from Niagara University. Mary Ann was employed by Rivershore, Inc. and then Horizon, Inc. before her own disability forced her to retire in 2003. She will always be remembered for her smile and caring heart, especially by her family and many friends. Mary Ann's family would like to extend a special thank you to PACE Program Complete Senior Care for the wonderful care they gave to her. She is survived by her children, Tim (Barbara) Rafferty, Corina (Daniel) Rhinehardt, and Jill (Douglas) Obrochta; her siblings, Carol (Thomas) Feger, Charles (Mary) Canterbury, Linda (William) Moore, and Thomas (Cynthia) Canterbury; a brother in law, Lawrence Hazel; 13 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Ellamae Hazel and Elaine Canterbury and a brother, James Canterbury. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston on Monday, August 17, from 11 am - 2 pm. Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 pm in the funeral home, with the Rev. Shirley Obrochta officiating. Burial will follow in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston.
