Norma M. (Caldwell) Briggs, age 91 former 30 year resident of Wilson and 27 year resident of Ft. Myers, FL died Tuesday January 20, 2015 at her son's residence while under the loving care of her family and Niagara Hospice. Norma was born July 1, 1923 in Niagara Falls, NY, the daughter of the late Harrison and Ruth (Fisher) Wiltse. After graduating from high school she worked in the office at the Carborundum Co. in Niagara Falls and then worked as a Nurse's Aide for the former Ransomville Hospital. She was also an Avon Lady for the Ransomville/Wilson Area. She then was employed as a school bus driver by the Ransomville Bus Lines, for the Lewiston-Porter School District for 20 years until her retirement in 1984 at which time she moved to Florida. She returned to Western New York in 2011. She was active in the Ransomville Methodist Church for 30 years and was a Den Mother for Cub Scout Pack 27. While in Florida, Norma volunteered for the Shell Point Church Ministries in Ft. Myers for 25 years. Since her return to Wilson she has attended Exley United Methodist Church in Wilson. Norma was predeceased by two husbands, William A. Caldwell of Niagara Falls, NY and Robert E, Briggs of Ft. Myers, FL She is survived by a son, Andrew M. (Darlene) Caldwell of Wilson and Dawn Caldwell of Niagara Falls, NY; her grandchildren, David (Melissa Baldo) Caldwell of Lockport, Krystal Caldwell of Rochester, NY, Joseph (Erin) Caldwell and Janelle (Caldwell) Grace both of Alabama; a brother, Donald (Betty) Wiltse of Wilson; and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no prior visitation. Memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094.
