Obituary of Doretta A. Nashwinter

Doretta A. Nashwinter, age 90 of Sanborn, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, June 27, 2014. Doretta was born March 29, 1924 in Clearfield, PA, the daughter of the late Albert and Victoria (Brown) Nearhood. She married Lawrence E. Nashwinter on July 18, 1942. Lawrence predeceased her on August 2, 1990. Doretta had worked at Twin Fair, Value and then was employed by Colonial Village Schools. Later in life she enjoyed gardening, holiday decorating, cooking, eating and spending time with her family and friends. Doretta loved taking care of her two Chihuahuas. She is survived by six children, David (Mary), James (Rose), Wanda (Wayne), and Webb (Patricia) Nashwinter, Dolly Neubauer, and Debbie (Tom) Brown; 16 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren; a sister, Betty Davis; a daughter in law, Barb Nashwinter, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Jerome Nashwinter; a great grandson, Brian Besaw, Jr.; two sisters, Niome Shoup and Bonnie Nearhood; and three brothers, Albert, Kenneth, and Lonnie Nearhood. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, July 2, at 11:00 AM at Stella Niagara, 4421Lower River Rd Lewiston. There will be no prior visitation. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Stella Niagara, 4421 Lower River Rd, Stella Niagara, NY 14144. Arrangements have been entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Rd. Ransomville, NY.
