Obituary of Bonnie Cutler

Bonnie Cutler, age 86 of Lewiston, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday October 28, 2009 at her residence under the loving care of her devoted family and Niagara Hospice. Bonnie was born October 15, 1923 in Hurley, VA, the daughter of the late Johnie and Marjorie Lester, and has lived in Lewiston the past 30 years. She had worked as a waitress at the Home Restaurant and Red Coach Inn, both in Niagara Falls, for a number of years. She was the former wife of the late Fred Lee Smith, Sr. On August 13, 1994 she married Charles R. Cutler. Bonnie was a 50 year member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Niagara Falls, until its' closing and is currently a member of the New Zion Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Niagara Falls. She was known by her family as a Fashion Leader and above everything else, a "Lady". She enjoyed being a "matchmaker", playing cards, and shopping. Bonnie cherished her husband, children, grandchildren, her special friend, Fran Adams, but most of all she cherished her faith and spiritual beliefs. She is survived by her husband, Charles R. Cutler; her children, Fred Lee (Julie) Smith, Jr. of Lewiston, Sharon (late Ronald) Kochan of Lewiston, Richard (Theresa) Smith of Florida, and Susan C. Speziale of Lewiston; her step sons, Charles R. (Margie) Cutler, Jr. of Sanford, NC and Clayton J. (Virginia) Cutler of the Town of Lewiston; her grandchildren, Bryan and Jaime Smith, Richard Jr. and Andrew Wright, Abram, Christian, and Richard Paul Smith, Jr., Stephanie, Steven, and Alaina Speziale; her step grandchildren, Clayton J. II, Kevin, and Jason Cutler; 8 great great grandchildren; three brothers, Claude Lester of Mehrin, VA, James Lester of Lewiston, and Billy (Diane) Lester of Largo, FL; and three sisters, Lorene (Larry) Near of Lewiston, Jean Hillman of Ransomville, and Kay Fitzgerald of Niagara Falls. She was predeceased by a son, David L. Smith; three grandchildren, Jeremy Paul Smith, Christian Kochan, and Fred Smith, III; a sister, Mary Randock; and two brothers, Edward and John Lester. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Sts., Lewiston on Sunday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. Funeral Services will be Monday, November 2, at 11:00 AM in the New Zion Evangelical Presbyterian Church, (sharing with Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church) 1010 Michigan Ave. (corner of Michigan and 10th St.) Niagara Falls, with the Rev. John Timmerman officiating. Burial will be in Acacia Park Cemetery, Town of Pendleton. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the New Zion Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 1010 Michigan Ave., Niagara Falls, NY or to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094
