Obituary of Kristina L. Nelson
Kristina L. Nelson, age 67 of Youngstown, died Tuesday June 20, 2017 at her home under the loving care of her family and Niagara Hospice.
Kristina was born October 14, 1949 in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of the late Heinz and Louise (Stiefel) Kroll and was a graduate of Cardinal O'Hara High School. On June 22, 1968 she married Richard Nelson and they have lived in Youngstown the past 20 years.
She enjoyed horses, cats, and birds, was an avid gardener, and member of the Youngstown Garden Club. Kristina was also a member of the Youngstown Social Club and the Youngstown/Lewiston Gourmet Club. She had volunteered as a Tour Guide at Old Fort Niagara for ten years and at Art Park for three years.
She is survived by her husband, Richard; three daughters, Lauri (David) Rew, Nicole Nelson, and Mandy (James) Tatu; a sister, Diane (Alan) Boldt; three grandchildren, four great grandchildren, three nieces and nephews, and brothers and sisters in law.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094. Arrangements have been entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Sts., Lewiston.
